Bring Souls to Christ

As a Christian, I feel very strongly that my mission on Earth is to simply Bring Souls to Christ. I feel strongly that it does not mean I am to bring every person I know to be baptized into my religion. I also feel strongly that  it does mean that I should show my love for my Savior and his love for all of us as often as I can, and maybe through that every person I know will be able to find the Path to their Heavenly Father, and come more fully unto him.

I'm truly terrible at this. Ask anyone I work with. I'm too short with my words, and I'm not kind enough, and so many other things I will probably always need to be working on.

But I am trying through little things and ways to be more in tune with the Spirit and to be ready, and more importantly willing, to heed the promptings I am given throughout my day. I have been listening to conferences on my drives (by the way I was only 15 minutes early the other day! SWEET!), and I have been trying to keep a prayer in my heart all day, I have been trying not to find fault with people (which I do WAY to often!), I have been trying really heard to find joy in the service I give to others.

I wonder if that's enough though. Does one small(ish) person's small actions have a lasting effect on people's lives? Does me trying to be more caring change how people view themselves and their Savior? Will me trying to keep the spirit with me help the hypothetical you find solace and eternal love in their Father above's arms? I don't know. Sometimes I feel so small and unimportant. As just one person I don't know that I can do that much. In contrast though, I think a group of loving caring people who are striving for the same things can change the world even a small group.

So for my Thanks-Giving and service session today I want to extend a challenge to each of the three of you who are reading this. I am hoping you will participate. It's easy. Spend some time today looking around you for someone you can serve. Someone you can smile at who really looks like they need it. Try to share some of the beautiful light you have inside you with someone else today. Then...PLEASE come back and tell me about it. I really want to hear it!!! I have not shame so consider this me begging you...

Have The Best Day!!!

And congrats to S & J who welcomed a new baby boy to their family yesterday!!!!!!!! Love you guys!!!!!!

Poof

I have a great calling in my ward. I am one of the first people to find out if someone has a baby, or when someone has a surgery, or when someone looses a loved one. I get to help take some of the stress off f them. I'm glad I get to be the one taking that phone call, because when so many people feel helpless, or overwhelmed, or just broken...I get to help them. It's a blessing to me.

This week I've set up a lot of meals for people. People who are grieving. It breaks my heart to hear the sadness in their voices, and to picture their red and swollen eyes. We have all been where they are, and we've all felt what they are feeling, and there really isn't much that can be said to help make it better.

My heart and my prayers are with them right now. I wish I could do more. I wish I could do something that would help them through this time. I would do it.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to say here...Just that I wish I could do more...But I'm glad I can do something. And I'm sorry.

TO: EVERYONE

I got an email from a good friend of mine this morning and I know she would appreciate that if possible you would all donate to help find a cure. She battled for her life at the age of 15 and is now trying to give back. She worked really hard training for this 1/2 marathon and just hasn't been able to meet the required donations.Like I said - if possible please help her out. Thanks guys!! Here is her email:

Please help me. I need donations in any amount. Last July I started training with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program to walk the 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) at the Phoenix PF Chang's Rock and Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. Well on January 18, 2009 I completed the 1/2 Marathon. Unfortunately I did not raise the required funds and I was charged the remaining balance. I have until February 18, 2009 to request a reimbursement if I am able to complete the required fundraising before February 18, 2009. Any amount you are able to donate is greatly appreciated.

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. You can make your donations online quickly and securely at the following link:
