Friends make me happy!!

OUR WEEKEND WAS AWESOME!!!! Two of my best friends from High School came to visit us this weekend. We did ALL SORTS OF STUFF!!!!!

We went to the Mesa Temple (after Jer made an awesome breakfast) and walked around. There is a seriously beautiful display at the Visitors' Center for any of you who are in town here. Make some time to go see it! It's wonderful!!

The weekend kind of turned into us all doing things we have always wanted or have been to scared to doo....It was really fun to approach a weekend like this. It made for much randomness...

This is Jenn....She has always wanted to hug a cactus.... And now she has. She was very careful, but still got poked by the thing. Which honestly, isn't too surprising. HEHE

 Just wanted to show you this. Cause it's pretty!

This is Amy. Just so you know - it's her birthday tomorrow. She is afraid of Sushi...or...was. Okay maybe she still is. but she did try it! We started her out on Deep Fried California Rolls, and Avocado Rolls. Easy stuff...

It went well....

Really well!!!

Then we worked up to a Rainbow Roll.... I won't post a picture of how this one turned out....But it almost came back....that's all I will say. 

ANYWAY! She powered through - kept it down, and overall enjoyed the experience. It was REALLY fun!!

Then we found this.

Little fact about Sarah...She doesn't clean out pumpkins. It's gross. And gooey. And I don't like it. So I make Jeremy clean them out so I can carve them. It's just one of those things that just...IS in our marriage. It's worked well so far. 

But since this was a weekend of facing stuff...I faced it.

I did the whole thing!!! ALL by myself!!! I'm so proud. But I will admit it was not the funnest thing ever. I had to use gloves and an apron.....And I still gagged once or twice.

It was totally worth it though!! LOOK!!!

We even went to the Candy company here in Glendale and went through their video tour...We got chocolate covered Jalapenos, and french silks, and caramels...oh my sake. If you haven't been...GO!! SO FUN!!!

It was so much fun! We ate a lot of food, and candy, and cookies....mostly a totally awesome weekend. THANKS GIRLS!!!! I'm so glad you came and I miss you already!!! Love you both!!!

Weekend Update

Friday my co-worker left early. 2 hours early. my boss was out of the office for a surgery, and he decided this was perfect timing for him to go "tow the caddie to the shop... because it has to be there by 6... And I can't be late because the guy won't like it.... I mean He's not going to get mad or anything but he's a really professional guy and wouldn't appreciate it.... And I don't want to do it in the dark... or in rush hour... and it's going to take a while to get it over there... it's only like 10 miles, but towing is hard..."

Seriously??!!! Really???!!! You had to leave at 3 pm so you could tow a car 10 miles? Really???!!! Seriously!!! Seriously. But it's cool - maybe you could spend the 2 HOURS you took off thinking of more lame excuses when in reality I KNOW you saw an opportunity with our boss being gone to just get home and start Super Bowl Weekend early!! Bottoms UP! Seriously!!!!



We live in an apartment, and love everything about it. Except the scary ice cream vans that come through our parking lot starting at 5 pm every day. We have three. They all play REALLY LOUD and REALLY ANNOYING music all the way around. One of them we are pretty sure is dealing. And not in bom pops. They seem to have a large fan club of 20 somethingers who meet them every day. Weird. But kind of clever too. OH! Did I mention our neighbor just started an ice cream van business? YEP!! He's the same guy that tried to break into our house when he was drunk one night. We really do live in a good place - it's just this guy - really!

SERIOUSLY??!!! WHY would you spend 20 minutes blasting your music box version of The Sting into our house EVERY DAY?? Do you like torturing us like that? Seriously!! Obama should step in an outlaw you for your own horrible version of water boarding!!! Seriously!!! And Really? Really?? the cord hanging out of your SECOND STORY window ALL night to keep your stock cold? Really?? Is this business making you ANY money?! Seriously!??!!!! I hate you all. Really.

Seriously NFL?!!! The WHO? I know I was not around in their glory days or anything, but...Seriously????!!!!! I was worried we were going to have to have the ambulance take them off the field. REALLY????!!!! The WHO??!!!! Just sad. Really!!!


The Colts Lost. Because with 5 yards to go they couldn't get a complete pass in THREE downs.

SERIOUSLY?!!!?!!!?!!! Really???!!! THREE DOWNS!!!! FIVE YARDS!!!!! I lost a (nother) million dollars to Jeremy with those 5 yards guys!! SERIOUSLY!!! Congrats to the Saints...whatever.

I have one more...But I'm still too angry to even joke about it right now.

OH! Guess what?! There were three...THREE baby blessings Yesterday at church. I was nervous. I Love Baby blessings, but...for obvious reasons they can be really hard for me, and since I have unexplainably (is that a word) been VERY emotional recently I was just not sure how I would do with this. But I didn't even well up!!! not once!! And all three of the blessings were SO BEAUTIFUL!!! It was such a fun day!!! And then we went to our friend (They were one of the families having their baby blessed) for dinner. Her mom cooked. LOVE her mom!!! And LOVE her cooking!!! The most amazing green chili burritos and menudo! I had never had it before, and since it's cow stomach...I was worried. but my motto is always try everything twice. (who can tell if they don't like something if they only have it once?!) so I gave it a whirl. It had a really good flavor, kinda spicy. but the texture was...no bueno...LOL!!! Seriously though...I liked it, but could not do the feel of it in my mouth. But a totally enjoyable afternoon all in all. Anyway - How was your weekend??

HAZZAH!!

Jeremy and I spent the day at the renaissance festival on Saturday. Neither of us had ever been, so everything was all new. OH! And it was FAIRY DAY!!! We chose to approach the fest as we do Disneyland. We had the map and the schedule of events, and we pretty much wandered around looking at EVERYTHING until we needed to be somewhere to see a certain show, and we totally got lost in the magic!!


On the way in – just past the gate - there was this cart of Fairy Finery, and there was a fairy selling her wares and THEN there was a fairy who was sitting on a stool that was playing her flute…it was one of those flutes with two pipes. She was amazing!!! I’d never seen a real fairy before!! She was beautiful!! Her auburn hair was curled and it was intertwined with flowers and leaves and ribbons… she was wearing a brown leather outfit, and her translucent wings were an earthy green that sparkled and shone in the sun light. She had little elfin shoes, and looked just like something you would see in a garden in London outside of a castle...quite a distance to travel to Phoenix…but I’m so glad she did!!! It was her mannerisms that were the most beautiful though!! She pranced and she flitted and she was shy and coy and sparkly and totally mesmerizing!! I could not stop watching her!! Jeremy totally had to pull me away, and all day long every time I saw her I was just as transfixed.


We had so much fun – we looked at shops and watched glass blowing and we saw pirate shows and JOUSTING and I was even made a lady of the court!!! It was so much fun!! We ate a frozen cheese cake (Jer had a frozen banana) and then we ate TURKEY legs!! It was really greasy, and I could only do about ¼ of the thing, but it was really good. We made it through a maze and watched them make sculptures of wax hands. Good times.


Then on the way out we saw the fairy again (for like the 4th time…I stopped every time we saw her), and since I had enjoyed her so much we tipped her and to say thank you…SHE GAVE ME A FAIRY ROCK!!! COVERED IN FAIRY DUST!!! I cannot tell you the JOY in my heart!!! I held the thing in my hand all the way home. I would look at it and just start to giggle. It was so beautiful and perfect. It is clear and round and flat on the bottom, and it was covered in FAIRY DUST!! I LOVE it!! On the way home I was not watching it as closely as I should have been, and it fell and landed on my shirt and some of the fairy dust got wiped off…I welled up…but I realized that the magic was not I the dust or the rock or even with the Fairy herself. The magic was in me letting myself be young and carefree and able to believe again. It was inside me. It always is.


When Jeremy and I started dating he said something that made me smile and now it makes me love him even more. He said he never wanted to grow old. That he of course would get older, but he always wanted to be able to enjoy life, and be able to play. We did that on Saturday. We were kids…getting lost in Knights and Fairies. I love, and I am so grateful The Lord would lead me to a place where I could be found by a man who is still young at heart and who loves to laugh as much as I do. I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again…I am so spoiled (read: so blessed)!!

It’s a long story…

But the reader’s Digest version is that we are going to Utah for Thanksgiving, and my parents WILL be there. You would think I would feel better about all of this. I really don’t, but I am trying.

I had the best weekend!!! Friday night we got to go baby sit our friend’s 18 month old little boy. OH MY ADORABLE!! We had so much fun!! I felt so bad – it was like11 or something when they got home and I was falling asleep…LOL. 5 am to 11 pm is a long day!! LOL! But it was really fun!!! Saturday morning I was up at 5 again and got ready tog o to the Taking Strides against Breast Cancer walk. It was great!!! We got lost on the way there and ended up at the MS walk…does anyone know why there are a crew of Storm Troopers that walk the MS walk every year??? SO WEIRD!!! We made t to the correct walk and did our three miles and it was awesome!! Really inspiring – so many people joining together for a common cause…wow!! It was really beautiful!!! Then we went home and I took a glorious nap!! Then I cleaned the house and J did laundry – I really am spoiled!!! Then we had the missionaries over for dinner along with our friends the Catalonos. We have some great missionaries…and some great friends!! It was a really fun night!! Then we went to the Stake play and got to see our good friends the Buschs perform. It was…SO GOOD!!! I cried!! Then we went out for Ice Cream. REAL ICE CREAM!!! YEAH!!! It was AWESOME!!! Sunday we went to church and then had the Catalonos and Lauren over to watch Iron Man. It was a great end to a great weekend!!
